Our Solutions

Help Us Build Community Gardens To Feed Veterans

Veterans Produce has designed and developed community greenhouse systems that will feed populations of veterans across the nation, large or small, we can provide for much of their food needs.

We are passionate about providing a solution to end homeless veteran food crisis and empowering local communities to effect positive change. Veterans Produce strives to bring food security, food safety, and sustainability to veteran communities throughout the U.S.

Our organization is veteran built, and volunteer run. But there is a need for more community gardens as the number of homeless veterans is increasing. With additional funds to build community greenhouses we will continue to:

  • Feed homeless and food insecure veterans: Feeding Tony one community at a time
  • Teach veterans: how to grow their own food Aquaponically/Hydroponically
  • Train veterans: how to operate greenhouses giving them a skill enabling the to find a job
  • Deploy trained veterans: to duplicate our community greenhouse model

Let Me Tell You About Our Solutions

And how you can be a part of the solution…

As you may have read on the previous page “Why Should I Get Involved", we started this project to feed homeless veterans after I met Tony, a Vietnam Army veteran. Since then we have made it our mission to eradicate veteran hunger due to homelessness nation wide.

As homeless veteran populations grow, and resources dwindle and the need for eco-friendly, sustainable farming solutions is at an all-time high.

As our mission expands, so we too must enhance methods for reaching more veterans in need.

These systems have been developed to address the needs of food insecure and homeless veterans.

Each system has been designed for a specific use, namely, larger populations of homeless veterans need larger facilities to grow enough food to support them.

Veterans Produce has designed and developed community greenhouse systems that will feed populations of veterans across the nation, large or small, we can provide for much of their food needs.

The Veterans Produce - 40' Container Garden

For the first time - we can feed more homeless veterans in need with less space. We are crafting alternatives to centralized food systems with our high-yield, low carbon footprint community Container Gardens.

Veterans Produce provides a solution for food safety, security, and sustainability. With our unique blend of ingenuity and imagination, we can feed the nation's homeless veterans one container, one community, one Tony at a time.

Our cutting-edge Container Garden designs promote easy operation and maintenance while reducing the risk of food-borne illnesses. Not only can our farms be equipped with solar systems allowing the farm to operate off-grid, but our innovative hydroponic watering systems use 90% less water than traditional agriculture farms.

  • Secure Hydroponic System: Controlled Environmental Agriculture (CEA), Weather Hardened
  • Portable Hydroponic Garden: Ready To Deploy Where Needed
  • Feeds 1000 per week**: ~ 200 lbs. of fresh organic produce weekly, 8,800 lbs. or 44,100 people feed annually
  • Hydroponics: Grows 8x-10x more food per sq.ft., 30% faster, 50% more nutritious, 90% less water, year-round growing cycles
** Yields are best case scenario under most favorable conditions. Results may vary.
Here's how you can be a part of the solution…We need your help to build systems like this in order to feed the growing homeless veteran population. Once built we can deploy to those communities in need and operate locally serving fresh produce and fruits.

The Veterans Produce - 30'x100' Commercial Garden

For larger communities - we can feed more homeless and food-insecure veterans with less space. We are crafting alternatives to centralized food systems with our high-yield, large footprint Commercial Gardens.

Our cutting-edge Commercial Garden designs promote easy operation and maintenance while reducing the risk of food-borne illnesses. Not only can our commercial farms be equipped with solar systems allowing the greenhouse to operate off-grid, but our innovative hydroponic watering systems use 90% less water than traditional agriculture farming.

Training - the Keller Greenhouse is our training center in north Texas. In addition to feeding homeless veterans, we are teaching veterans how to grow with water techniques such as; Hydroponics, Aquaponics (coupled & decoupled), all while using sustainable growing materials, methods, nutrients, and natural pest management.

Skills aide Employment - Additionally, we train veterans through our internship/mentor program on how to operate and maintain greenhouse systems, thereby giving them a transferable skill to gain employment at another greenhouse.

Expandable model - Once trained, we can deploy veterans to duplicate and build community gardens in other areas across the nation.

  • Commercial Footprint Hydroponic/Aquaponic: 200 Fish per week or 8800 annually.
  • Feeds 960 per week**: ~ 240 lbs of fresh organic produce, 10,560 lbs. or 42,240 people feed annually.
  • Aquaponics/Hydroponics: Grows 8x-10x more food per sq.ft., 30% faster, 46% more nutritious, 90% less water, year round growing cycles
** Yields are best case scenario under most favorable conditions. Results may vary.

The Veterans Produce - 16'x48' Community Garden

For the smaller needs - we can feed more homeless veterans in need with less space. We are crafting alternatives to centralized food systems with our high-yield, large footprint Commercial Gardens.

The community greenhouse model - with its small footprint essentially makes food available in almost any community and region, especially in areas lacking in fresh vegetables such as urban areas in the low-income zones where conventional soil growing methods do not prevail.

With our community gardens - we can grow large quantities of food in a very small footprint to help homeless and food-insecure veterans have access to quality food.

Building local community gardens - provides 365-day access to healthy food. Veterans work alongside each other, learning new skills and get to experience the rewarding nature of farming, growing healthy organic food with their own hands. We believe that decentralizing food sources will help to create a more equitable food supply.

Our cutting-edge - Community Garden designs promote easy operation and maintenance while reducing the risk of food-borne illnesses. Not only can our farms be equipped with solar systems allowing the farm to operate off-grid, but our innovative hydroponic watering systems use 90% less water than traditional agriculture farms.
